We started APWS with a mission to provide a no-kill animal shelter in Punjab, India and your place to adopt a dog to make your family whole.
By adopting a pet at Animal Protection and Welfare Society, you do more than just give one animal their second chance. You help to save more and more lives by supporting the rescue and best-in-class care of homeless stray dogs who need it the most.
We strive to provide free and accessible healthcare to stray dogs and affordable healthcare to pets in need. Services include core vaccinations, routine tests, spay/neuter surgeries, microchips, and products and preventatives for flea, ticks and heartworm.

Committed to Dog Welfare
No animal is euthanized due to space, length of stay, or for treatable/manageable conditions.
Solving India's stray dog problem involves a multi-pronged approach including animal birth control, sterilization and vaccination programs, establishing more shelters, and public education.
While government actions are in motion, animal welfare organizations like ours is aimed to work on rescue, rehabilitation, and advocating for humane solutions like implementing the Animal Birth Control (ABC) rules to manage the population and reduce conflicts with humans.
